Something I was told early on is you will find your own preferred area of photography and style. I've found this seems to find you rather than the other way round. It's a kind of natural process.
I now find myself shooting most things, babies, cakesmashes, families, portfolios for musicians, bands, make up artists, actors, shots for fashion companies, product photography, and many model portfolios and even sometimes landscapes.
